Not in Kansas Anymore

A story about the values of making, beginning with my Grandfather Art, who grew up in Depression-era Kansas. He became an aircraft engineer and skilled woodcarver, and got me interested in craft. Delivered as the Thomas J. Volpe Lecture at St. Francis College, Brooklyn, on 29 February, 2016.

The Thomas J. Volpe Lecture Series welcomed Glenn Adamson, Director of the Museum of Arts and Design as the latest speaker in the series on February 29, 2016. Dr. Adamson covered a wide range of topics including stressing how important it is to recognize the work that goes in to making art, not just the final work.
